Ooowww it’s been toooo long since I wrote on this blog… Back to life everyone…
Just got home from a gig which I thought would be a “weird” gig (but it turned out to be a great one). Why I thought it was weird was that the band format consists of a vocalist, a guitarist and a pianist.
What?? No bassist?? so who will be in charge for the rythm section?? well that was quiet interesting.. The solution was the guitarist and the keyboard player (that would be me) have to work it out together.. When I played the bass line and block chords, he played some fill in, and vice versa.. Usually guitar part and piano part often overlapping, because both instrument have similar function in a band..
Well that gig taught me something new… it taught me to be a rythm keeper.. it turns out to be very hard to keep the tempo steady and to give the rythm platform for different kind of songs… Nice gig!
